I boxed this up, plus two more like it, and I’m mailing them to my 21-YO daughter in Humboldt County because TP is scarce and the vagabonds are steeling the toilet paper from public restrooms and they have to keep it locked up at her job.

My wife went shopping yesterday and the local store is out of TP. We live in Montana where TO is optional.

I’m down to 3 rolls here. I did break down and order some wipes from Amazon, wince they seemed to be a bit more available, though still back-ordered until the 22nd (Amazon has since updated to say delivery between tomorrow and the 20th). I’ve also got a bidet seat I’ve been meaning to install, and likely will try that this weekend.

On the list of things you never though you’d do, I’m guessing mailing toilet paper to a relative because there wasn’t any to buy was probably fairly high on the list.

I basically never have less than 8 rolls in the house - part of that is due to my IBS, part of it is because manufacturers love packaging it in giant quantities so you look like you must be sitting your brains out all the time when you go up to buy it. So, after my current one, I’ve got 11 more on the second floor, plus 2 in the guest bathroom. Haven’t even been inside a store since well before the insanity started, and am hoping I don’t need groceries until it blows over.

I’ve got maybe 24 rolls. 12 are sandpaper x-brand trash, so I hope I won't have to dig into that package...

I have have a costco pack left but I ordered a six pack of those 12" industrial rolls just in case. I do have a Japanese toilet so we don’t absolutely have to have TP, but we use it for so much, like the pupper and stuff. I should just get a bunch of washcloths.

Went to the Neighborhood Market early this morning (I like their chocolate milk) - paper goods section was literally empty. Stopped by the nearby Rite Aid I visited yesterday - down to maybe 10% of normal TP stock, but they have something. I can’t imagine what Costco is like right now.

I drove by the Business Costco and you couldn’t even get into the parking lot. Line of cars out of the lot and down the street. Mrs. Vandura went to Sprouts and bought whatever she needed. Payed more than Costco, but still.
And on Facebook today, this:

To be totally honest, there are other contributing factors that I’d rather not go into, but yes. Mrs. Vandura says this will be much appreesh.
When I was in the Army, an old sergeant once said to me that a single awsh* t was worth dozens or hundreds of attaboys. As a dad, the former are much more attainable than the latter. So if i can earn bonus points for mailing some buttwipe, then I’m extra down.

Less ew than toilet paper I think... Though I’ll admit I’d prefer if it were the fancy heated type.

The custodians at the school where I worked hooked me up with these and had a good laugh when I told them my plans. This kind is much more efficient to ship than the household stuff would be.

Bueno. My daughter is prone to exaggeration and I may have gilded the lily a bit in my post, but mail her the TP I did this morning, also because other reasons.

I probably have 6 months or more worth of TP in my own hoard, water flows freely from the tap, so I need nothing more than normal perishables, which of course are not being bought in any numbers right now.
That graphic sums up facebook, home of the unsourced wingnut and conspiracy theorist.

W hen I get down to a few rolls, I buy another pack. Never run out, always have a few extras on hand.
I’m kind of wondering if part of the panic is because people buy just one thing at a time and have no stock of anything in their houses - individual bars of soap, individual rolls of toilet paper, 1 day of food, etc. Is that a thing? Do people do that?

It was worth doing, we sold out by 1pm and who knows if the suppliers will be able to restock everybody come Monday. Likely they will “mis- ship” a bunch to larger accounts.

But they are willing to align with those people and cater to them for their own profit. They are just as bad as the dumbest base. VDH certainly is - he pretends to be some kind of intellectual, but I don’t buy it.
I have a few in my family tree like that. Constantly moaning about “takers” and “socialism” while if it wasn’t for public sector and/or parental largesse, they’d be in deep shit, and still aren’t exactly tycoons. They are examples of what is wrong with the system, but are fighting to keep the system intact.
